5 Books that Changed My Life

It’s unbelievable that books are able to change peoples’ lives.

Yes, I agree, every book makes some small changes, and has influence on a person. But I am talking about significant changes, life turning changes. Most of us read fairy tales such as Cinderella,  but do not believe that life can be magically changed. But now, after reading these five books,

WOW!… I believe everything is possible!
There are not immediate results; you can notice the changes after some time. When you understand that there is another life,  you can draw a sharp line between Before and After. I can draw this line in my life from the moment I read the first book on this list.

There are 5 books which changed my life, and I’ve read them in exactly the same sequence as below. I think this sequence worked perfectly for me at that moment. I read many other books between these, and other books were great additions and consolidations for my subconsciousness, but these five were foundational. I plan to make a whole list of the great books I’ve read in the near future.

I don’t want to recommend these five books to everybody, because not every person would like or be ready to change his or her life. But if you feel that your life could be better, more interesting, more meaningful, read these books, and you won’t be able turn back to your previous life style. You will be aware of only YOUR responsibility on this earth:-)

1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money–That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! by Robert T. Kiyosaki

“The single most powerful asset we all have is our mind. If it is trained well, it can create enormous wealth in what seems to be an instant.”

“A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no. That’s where toughness comes into play. Toughness is not being a bully. It’s having backbone.”

“Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow”

“Remember to dream big, think long-term, underacheive on a daily basis, and take baby steps. That is the key to long-term success.”

“In school we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down. If we never fell down, we would never walk.”

“Emotions are what make us human. Make us real. The word ‘emotion’ stands for energy in motion. Be truthful about your emotions, and use your mind and emotions in your favor, not against yourself.”

“Workers work hard enough to not be fired, and owners pay just enough so that workers won’t quit.”

~Robert Kiyosaki

2. Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion. by Gary Vaynerchuk

“Learn to live your passion, and you’ll have all the money you need plus total control over your own destiny.”

“Saying hello doesn’t have an ROI. It’s about building relationships.”

“I firmly believe with all of my heart that we are living at the beginning of humanization of business.”

“How about we do something that matters instead of just sending people more coupon codes?”

“Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, what do I want to do everyday for the rest of my life…do that.”

“A penguin cannot become a giraffe, so just be the best penguin you can be.”

~ Gary Vaynerchuk

3. The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich. by Timothy Ferriss

“The commonsense rules of the ‘real world’ are a fragile collection of socially reinforced illusions.”

“You spend two weeks negotiating your new Infiniti with the dealership and got $10,000 off? That’s great. Does your life have a purpose? Are you contributing anything useful to this world, or just shuffling papers, banging on a keyboard, and coming home to a drunken existence on the weekends?”

“The question you should be asking yourself isn’t, “What do I want” or “What are my goals?” but “What would excite me?”

“What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do. As I have heard said, a person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.”

“It’s lonely at the top. Ninety-nine percent of people in the world are convinced they are incapable of achieving great things, so they aim for mediocre.”

“But you are the average of the five people you associate with most, so do not underestimate the effects of your pessimistic, unambitious, or disorganized friends. If someone isn’t making you stronger, they’re making you weaker.”

“The opposite of love is indifference, and the opposite of happiness is boredom.”

“If you are insecure, guess what? The rest of the world is, too. Do not overestimate the competition and underestimate yourself. You are better than you think.”

~Timothy Ferriss

4. Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us. by Seth Godin

“A tribe is a group of people connected to one another, connected to a leader, and connected to an idea. For millions of years, human beings have been part of one tribe or another. A group needs only two things to be a tribe: a shared interest and a way to communicate.”

“Leadership is the art of giving people a platform for spreading ideas that work.”

“Leadership, on the other hand, is about creating change you believe in.”

“An individual artist needs only a thousand true fans in her tribe. It’s enough.”

“The secret of leadership is simple: Do what you believe in. Paint a picture of the future. Go there.
People will follow.”

“Change isn’t made by asking permission. Change is made by asking forgiveness, later.”

“How was your day? If your answer was “fine,” then I don’t think you were leading.”

~Seth Godin

5. Guide to Trance-formation: How to Harness the Power of Hypnosis to Ignite Effortless and Lasting Change. by Richard Bandler

“Brains aren’t designed to get results; they go in directions. If you know how the brain works you can set your own directions. If you don’t, then someone else will.”

“The greatest personal limitation is to be found not in the things you want to do and can’t, but in the things you’ve never considered doing.”

“That’s what good learning is. Learning is about looking at things differently, making your life a little bit better every day, noticing the progress you make, however small in the beginning. The truth is, people don’t stay the same. People either get better or they get worse. Those are the only two choices.”

“The brain learns quickly; learning doesn’t have to be slow – in fact, if the information is presented too slow, the brain won’t learn because it can’t detect a pattern. Patterns only make sense when they run quickly.”

“You are born with only two fears: fear of falling and fear of loud noise. All the rest is learned. And it’s a lot of work!”
“You know what ? Certain people think they will feel good if certain things happen… The trick is : you have to feel good for no reason…”

~Richard Bandler

How to Be Creative – Open Your Mind, and Dismiss Your Fears

Today I would like to talk  about creativity.

How to be creative. How to generate ideas. How to feel inspired.

I read many psychology books (I plan to write a post about the useful books in near future), and now I am beginning to understand how our brains work.

What is our thinking process? We think by using:

- pictures

- sounds

- body feelings/touch/sensations

- tastes

- smells

So, how does it relate to creativity? Directly.

If you are painter, for example:

Our Trip to California in Instagram Phone Photos.

I was never a big fun of gadgets, including cell phones. I used cell phones only to call somebody and get calls back. Sometimes I read one or two posts on some blogs when waiting for the kids on a playground. That’s it.

I never had a low battery at the and of the day.

Now things changed:-) I’ve installed Instagram, and fell in love with it:-) Now I stop using my phone when I see a red battery:-)
