Emotions. HDR photography: Before and After. And My Summer Portrait:-)

I think about emotions. How people are able to speak using a non verbal language, language of emotions. How people can express their emotions through the pictures, and other people can feel the same. It’s a very interesting subject. Isn’t it?

“When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but creatures of emotion.” ~Dale Carnegie

“It shows the truth – that the real meaning of a word is only as powerful or harmless as the emotion behind it.” ~Sarah Silverman

“Your intellect may be confused, but your emotions will never lie to you.” ~Roger Ebert

“Emotion always has its roots in the unconscious and manifests itself in the body.” ~Irene Claremont

What emotions do you feel when you are looking at this picture?

I feel beauty, calm, and pacification. And something which doesn’t have words to describe, I can only feel it:-) Do you feel it too?:-)

Oh, It’s me:-)  There was very hot and humidly; noisy, prickly, and a lot of bugs.

Do you feel it?

But… I tried my best that nobody feel it:-)

p.s. If you find my English mistakes pleaaase let me know!!! I appreciate any help.

HDR Outline, Tutorial #1

Now I am happy to announce the First HDR Outline Tutorial. I created it as for myself: how I like to see tutorials. I believe that simple visual materials are more understandable way to learn.

What people are saying about this tutorial:

Alex, I love the techniques in the PDF. I did a couple tweaks aside from it just because the shot I took wasn’t that great it was just for testing purposes, However I like the results alot and I can definitely see a difference from the way I was processing my HDR’s. Now I just need something worthy of posting to show others the results of your outlined technique. ~Marty Mar

I looked through the PDF and applied some of the techniques to one of my pictures. It helped a lot. Thanks so much. ~ Nathan Olmstead

Now available for iPad (iBooks) and PDF format!

Find Your Own True Voice. Lily Pond Fractal. Traditional Before and After.

“A Picasso always looks like Picasso painted it. Hemingway always sounds like Hemingway. A Beethoven symphony always sounds like a Beethoven symphony. Part of being master is learning how to sing in nobody else’s voice but your own. Every artist is looking for their big, definitive “Ah-Ha!” moment, whether they’re a master or not. That moment where they find their true voice, once and for all. …

Was it luck? Perhaps a little bit.

But it wasn’t the format that made the art great. It was the fact that somehow while playing around with something new, suddenly they found they were able to put their entire selves into it. …

Put your whole self into it, and you will find your true voice. Hold back and you won’t. It’s that simple.”

By Alex Stepanov (www.astepanov.com)Say what you want folks but I like watching shows like “American Test Kitchen”. First, I like good food. More important though, I like that those people always experiment and play with things that have been around forever and yet, they manage to come up with something new I have not heard before.
